Exercising provides tons of relationship building activities for couples to get involved in. Exercise is a great way to set goals and spend more time with your partner. Staying healthy is essential, so why not do it with the person you love most? There are many fun ways to exercise with your partner while bonding. Here are eight fun ways to incorporate fitness into your relationship. 

1. Go Hiking 

Hiking gets you and your partner out of the house to enjoy nature. You can calm your mind while embracing the sunshine and fresh air and burning tons of calories. Explore new areas together and choose to go on short or longer excursions. This is an excellent opportunity to connect with your partner and be one with the woods. 

2. Lift Weights 

Weightlifting is the best way to build muscle and lose fat for men and women. Other benefits include strengthening bones and decreasing cardiovascular risks like high blood pressure. 

You can create a challenging program that allows you to push each other to accomplish new goals. Celebrate achievements together, such as hitting a new weight or rep range. You’ll both end up looking and feeling great.

3. Try Workout Classes  

There are so many fitness classes you and your partner can try together. Try a couple of different types and see what you like the most. Try pilates for something slower-paced or kickboxing if you want a more intense workout. 

Sign up for sessions at your local gym or YMCA. You can even take virtual workout classes if you are more introverted and want to work up to a group setting. 

4. Couples Yoga  

There are so many types of yoga and multiple benefits that come with it. You can choose anything from hot yoga to methods that reduce back pain. Find a style that will benefit you and your partner. 

Couples yoga is fun because you can do poses together, which involves trust and teamwork. This will benefit your relationship outside of the class. 

5. Go for Walks

You don’t have to have an intense routine to get in exercise. Simply taking a daily walk together is enough to get the blood pumping, enjoy the sunshine and get out of the house. Instead of taking the same route daily, try spicing it up by visiting other neighborhoods for new scenery. 

It also gives you a chance to spend quality time together. You’re both busy, and a 30-minute walk can be enough time to catch up on each other’s lives and what happened throughout the day. 

6. Play a Sport

You or your partner might have enjoyed playing sports when you were younger. You can reconnect by picking a new activity each day. If you enjoyed volleyball, head to the court to reminisce on the days you used to play while revisiting your skills. 

7. Dancing

Dancing is a great way to get moving together if you want the exercise to feel more like fun. You and your partner can play music in the house or take a Zumba class. Create a playlist with different kinds of dancing to enjoy as you play it in your home. One minute you could be slow dancing and the next, jumping up and down. 

8. Have Sex

Although this isn’t the same as hitting the gym, it is still better than sitting on the couch with no movement. It is a great way to feel connected to your partner and causes other hormones to release that reduce stress and help you sleep better. Sleep and minimal stress are critical factors to being healthy individuals, so it is a win-win situation. 

Enjoy Exercise Together

Exercise doesn’t have to feel like torture. You can enjoy all types of physical activity with your partner by your side to bond while getting healthier.
